Recreation and entertainment

In keeping with the superb climate of The Gambia, the hotel offers a wealth of activities and recreational facilities as well as a independently opened spa for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Swimming pool

The hotel has a fabulous open terraced swimming pool, with a separate children’s section.

The spa

Owned by Vitala, the spa has separate massage rooms and offers such treatments as manicure, pedicure, facials, etc

Gym

A small gym area is stylishly fitted out with a separate aerobics studio and daily classes.

Children’s facilities

For our guests from 4 to 12 years of age there is a safe playing area close by the pool. Separate swimming area. For smaller children under 4, the hotel can provide baby-sitting services.

Observator

The Kairaba Hotel has the only observatory in West Africa. Open every Thursday and Saturday evening (weather permitting). For reservations and times of opening, please contact our reception.

Management cocktail

Every Monday between 18.00 and 19.00 hours we have our popular management cocktail. Enjoy a drink and a canapé in the garden.

Sports activities

In addition to quieter forms of recreation, like darts, croquet or large chess, we have facilities for the more active guests who prefer to hit a ball, with table tennis, pool and table football, and a tennis court shared with the next-door hotel.

Daily activities

We offer a wide variety of activities every day from noon onwards. Check the board by the pool to see what is available daily.

Bird watching

Every day is a good day for bird watching, but why not let our resident bird watcher, Aladdin, take you on a grand tour (every Wednesday and Saturday from 17.00 hours). Meeting point is the croquet lawn. A leaflet showing the birds to be found at the Kairaba gardens can be purchased at the reception desk.

Teatime

Come along and enjoy our wonderful high tea, served daily on the Kingfisher terrace, exclusively for all our hotel guests between 16.00 and 17.00 hours.

Library

There is a library at the pool centre with books in English, Dutch, German and Danish. Please feel free to borrow or swap.
